Firstly, congratulations to everyone who participated in the PMB Homebrew Showcase! The event was well organized, perfectly executed, and a whole lot of fun. We satisfied all of our guests and raised $650 toward the Walk for Hunger. If you haven’t seen them already, you can check out Ben Centra’s great photos of the event here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/6e4Sz27CLp3dTujj8
Secondly, please take note that the March club meeting will be taking place at the Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont. The owners have agreed to lend us their Biercierge space and will be providing glassware and pretzels. In addition, our very own Kevin Brewster will be leading an educational seminar on the topic of detecting off flavors in beer.
As always, please bring some homebrew to share. Let us know at the beginning if you would like feedback on any specific beverage, and we can do a group tasting of it. Also, if anyone has trouble getting to Belmont, feel free to post a carpool request on the PMB channel.
Finally, another heads up that in April’s meeting we will be holding the next beer competition, and the theme is cider. For purposes of this tasting, we will define it as anything that contains 50% or more apple/pear cider, so feel free to get creative with honey, beer, or other additives. No formal BJCP judging here; just points for quality and creativity!
